I clear all cookies up to 5 minutes after I've closed a site. I get asked to give my life away everytime I open youtube with no way to just block the request as it used to be possible. To make matters worse, I am unable to select that

They give so few shits because we keep using them despite everything they do. The people need to put their money elsewhere for Amazon to get their act together.

This isn't embedded though, this is running a python script side by side and using python to query libreoffice as opposed to enhancing a workbook via python.

Notice and appeals period isn't good enough. It takes UK banks millions to migrate to a cloud provider. Being given a notice period just means they have less than x amount of time to potentially spend equally as much as it took for the

Sure, just like all the other people who have been called to parliament and suffered the consequences. Ah wait.. Our current leaders are useless in this regard. They'll be given a stern warning letter and nothing will come of it.

We've been using symops[0] which uses AWS-StartSSHSession document, but what's nice is it allows to set up different workflows for how people access servers. Plus all the advantages of SSM in general (IAM/SSO, CloudTrail etc)

While Parler is somewhat irrelevant and the likelihood of any bank being taken down for similar reasons as Parler, it isn't completely incomprehensible. There have been many horror stories of businesses being banned, blocked, or messed

Total bandwidth reduces because the files get cached at the edge. E.g. if I'm watching a Netflix movie from the UK that is originally hosted in the US, the stream has to move to the UK, where it can then be cached, then it is also sent

Honestly, in my opinion this is completely reasonable. This is exactly how many different software do this including Firefox and Android (by default anyway). As others have mentioned the blowback on this is, in my opinion, entirely unreason

I have no horse in this race, but wouldn't it be better to keep crash reports in there? Of course it should be disabled by default, and it would never be uploaded. That way individuals can raise issues and attach the crashreports if th

The issue with these kinds of forks is that it'll eventually lose steam and no one will maintain it any more, or they'll fall far behind. In this case, the person has forked it, and is already lost interest as per the read me. On

System76 has added some improvements to the GNOME's HiDPI implementation. I'm not entirely sure what the improvements are but for example they've got a HiDPI daemon. Anyway, last I used fractional scaling (this is GNOME built

I don't understand these high resolutions on such tiny screens. They're just a waste of power. 1080p is plenty good enough.

I have been on both sides of the stick. At a previous place we set up a cluster on AWS. This was before EKS. We started out with kops initially but later used the generated CFN yaml. It was not an easy feat. There was a lot of gotchas, movi

This sounds like a lack of understanding of terraform. We use Terraform pretty heavily and I've rarely seen bad states across our whole org, and the few that I do see are usually people who don't know the core concepts (often non-

I edited my comment. I meant tax avoidance. I totally understand that there is legal means of essentially not paying taxes. That still does not make it okay. As I mentioned, I, as a lone tax payer, who made less then £100k, paid more in tax
