I had a think about where I first learned to use a debugger. The combo of M$ making it easy for .NET and VB6 and working professionally and learning from others was key. Surprised it is less popular. Tests have made it less necessary perhap

If I copy your book and sell a million bootleg copies that compete directly with your book is that worth the $30 cover price? This is what generative AI essentially is. Maybe the payment should be $500/h (say $5k a page) to cover the c

Very impressive but use case is narrow. You are on a train and don't have time to make a note, ok. But most of the time we are in places reasonably private where speech recognition is fine and would be convenient maybe more so learn

Money isn't impact though. It is a tool. Like a laptop. Is a laptop impact? It can be if used well. Money is more complicated in that it is non-linear. 0 to 100k is more effectful on your life than 1m to 1.1m.

Part of the owl can be how consumers upgrade. Don't get the latest patches but keep things up to date. Secondary sources of information about good versions to upgrade to and when. Allows time for vulns to be discovered like this before

There is going to be an element of affordability. I doubt someone worth $1bn would spend it all on art but maybe they would spend $10m or if you prefer the growth of $1bn invested in SPX for a month. So a month's "work". A bi

RSS feels like a cable. Cables won! Because you need them to power your devices and pipe your home internet. Cables lost! Because of 5G and WiFi. Maybe cables dont care, they just do their job.

Linkedin helped me too. It might be a SF bubble thing. In SF you talk to your classmates and the guy in the bunk above you, then go on a founder hike and meet more people. It probably feels too easy there why struggle with a crappy Facebook

My grep may not work on your settings for the same code. This becomes an issue with say CI where maybe I add a gate to check something with grep. But whose format do I assume? My local (that I used to test it locally) or the canonical (whic

One difference with AI is that you make a dependency on private corporations for a forever changing tool. A calculator from 1970 works the same as the one on your phone. A typewriter from 1930 has the same layout roughly as your laptop. The

The real neat thing is not having to make decisions up front. But you can tweak it later. If you are a rebel you could even use classes to touch up bits you are not happy with.

The hill is pointed at and the soldiers will fight, but obviously it depends what you are doing. Jira wont move to classless, but a blog might.
