When did you guys get acquired? I used AgileZen a couple of years ago at a large company and I'm curious if it was before or after the acquisition.

Considering Microsoft's strategy lately has been to provide cross platform support, I wouldn't assume that iOS is out of the picture unless there is an announcement. Look at Microsoft Band for example, it supports iOS, Android, an

I live in the area and we have a lot of difficulty finding talent. I see they are hiring for a lot of very specialized positions and I wonder how difficult it will be to fill them in this area.

That's how I run my game project as well. Except that I haven't gotten to a point where it can sustain working on it full time. Have you written about the history of Tarsnap like how you started it, how long before you were able t

Also on Linode the bandwidth is accumulated between all of your nodes. That means if you have 2 nodes each with 2TB, you can spend 3TB on one node without paying overage fees. It's actually cheaper to buy extra nodes for the bandwidth

I live outside of a town with a large tech culture. I often wonder if a large part of success is just being around the right community. So you are getting a lot of feedback and have real connections to gain information from. I wonder what t

That's what the voting system is for though. If someone is abusing the system like getting fake upvotes then that's def. a problem but the spam system accounts for that. Otherwise if the highly upvoted content on /r/entr

A mod can ban you from their subreddit and that happens a lot based on a fairly subjective basis. There are even times where you just get caught by moderating bots then if the moderators don't bother to reply to you, there is little re

As a long time Reddit user, I've been really disappointed lately with Reddits "battle" against content creators and the little recourse you have if you are marked as a spammer or shadow banned. See the recent /r/ind

I really appreciate their transparency with their stability report ( http://rethinkdb.com/stability/ ). It's even linked right on the front page and shows what type of issues you can expect at scale.

I wonder how this will affect many of the apps where devs have hard coded the screen resolution and depend on the current DPI. The iPhone 4 doubled the DPI and the resolution so that it would be fairly seamless to devs. The iPhone 5 made th

I prefer BitBuckets because I don't want pricing to become an issue in how I split up my projects. They also have free private repos if you have 5 collaborators or fewer.

I prefer Linode. DO often has network issues and nodes take a little while to boot. Linode seems to offer a much more consistent product because they have been around whereas DO grew very quickly and I don't think they have gotten ever

ASP.net is fairly old tech so yeah it has problems. It's gotten better since and there's a difference between the .NET runtime and the .NET ecosystem. Saying .NET sucks because ASP.net sucks is like saying Ruby sucks because RoR s

I have had the exact opposite experience. People weren't using mocks therefore when you changed something at a low level, it caused tests all over the system to break that didn't particularly care about that behavior. It also make

I really want to see people's complex projects and example code. There have been way too much opinion on this topic lately without any concrete evidence to show the strengths/weaknesses of using or not using mocks.

That's the point of the testing pyramid at the end of the article. My rule of thumb is this: if you can test something at the unit testing level with mocks and feel confident about the behavior then do so. Otherwise, start moving up th
