There's also similarities with making any change to software. It's relatively easy to merge code in, but takes much more effort and thought to remove the code later. Especially once other things are dependant on it...

When doing solo side-projects that have no revenue streams, if something begins to cost money, I'll try and change the architecture so it doesn't cost money anymore. It's sad, but I'd probably rather spend 4 hours migrat

This seems similar to ranking websites based on "Google's Lighthouse" scores... which is interesting, but not the defining attributes of a good website. I also think there's way more metadata that could be useful in rank
