If they have no qualms doing this to their own employees, I imagine customer privacy is little more than PR at this point (but the more data pointing out their hypocrisy to customers the better).

Not OP but the syntax is off-puting for me, it's simply difficult to read. I can parse and read all C/C++/TypeScript/Java/C# code with ease, it all makes sense and reads like poetry. Rust's syntax is just ugly,

Visual programming like Scratch is safer than Rust so it's negligent if we don't all use Scratch next. Also, everyone should pee sitting down by law because some are known to pee to on their pants otherwise. /s

Surprising how this seemingly intelligent person repeats dozens of time how "Microsoft" is stealing their money when it's obvious to almost everyone that's just a scammer that got a hold of their credit card.

Of course people value things besides salary, but if there was no salary or the salary would not be enough to live off, none of those things matter in any way. So first and foremost (unless you're a billionaire's son) is salary, f

If you can't live off of $40,000 a year, you are not taking that job. I'm not saying there aren't people already independently wealthy and "working" for fun but those are an infinitesimal exception.

Why cloud? Rewriting some text is definitely something a local LLM can do; they have NPUs on the Copilot PCs so why not use that? So far the only feature I've seen them talking about for the NPUs on the Copilot PCs is image generation

I'm glad that more and more people start to see through the thick Apple BS (in these comments). I don't expect them to back down from this but I hope there is enough pushback that they'll be forced to add a big opt-out for al

I'm looking for a middle ground. I need to use and trust hardware from vendors like Apple but I use as few of their services as possible (and verify that with firewalls and traffic inspection). My concern here is with Apple Intelligenc

Some of us just assume Apple itself is a bad actor planning to use and sell customer data for profit; makes all of this smoke and mirrors like GP said. There is absolutely no technical solution where Apple can prove our data isn't exfi
