It doesn't grasp the world at all, there is no intelligence. It's just statistics about word use.

Why scale up a technology that has resulted in no understanding whatsoever - only statistical matching of word groups like a super parrot? Words are simply the data we humans use to convert to a model of space/time for computation as w

The problem is, words are not the issue, concepts are. And for understanding meaning, both causal and conceptual understanding of a spacetime model of the world is needed. That’s why the word2vec approach to nlp is truly a dead end, althou

Theranos got a great deal of funding too, and the truth about how none of the "Second Wave" ML self driving car technology comes even remotely close to safe self driving will be coming out probably later this year. The issue is t

I live in SF and have never seen a driverless Waymo, but have seen countless Waymo cars being driven every day. Now that they are getting a great deal of money for reaching the driverless stage in SF, has anyone actually observed a driverl

Well, we can see what actually happens in the near future, assuming any Waymo's drive around SF without a driver - so far all the many I've seen have a driver.

The point is the kid is seen running on the yard as you apprach, however there are parked cars obscuring the view such that there is no way to know the kid will continue when no longer seen between the cars and into the street without antic

The strong argument is that a car can't stop immediately, and we humans are always predicting and anticipating what may happen next and taking precautionary action. For example, if you are driving along and see kids playing in a yard
