Of course, the emissions testing is a state issue. Even the federal regulations say that federal government vehicles have to be tested in the state they are stationed in.

Even with a core, their "performance" engines have still been absurdly expensive.

Isn't it true that you can also be emissions exempt if you drive under 5k miles a year? Edit: and off road motors still have standards, just different standards.

Big brand crate engines have always been obscene. Almost every LS swap you see was someone pulling a motor out of a junker.

"That's due to a lack of investment by governments to support those families." Please show the evidence for this being true. Birthrates are low even in countries that provide a lot of support.

Birthrates at or below replacement rate are ultimately a good thing as we improve automation and AI. Infinite population growth is not a realistic model. We can't even prove the current population level is sustainable.

I basically write a prompt using my requirement and a natural language process model including all exceptions etc that I want to handle. I'll feed it to the agent and see how to does. I need to document the requirements anyways. The AI

The most productive people seem to be the ones who are skeptical of AI but found compelling cases to use them for and aren't afraid to correct them.

Where did you get the quote you are using in your argument? That isn't what the title says. Do you not think this law going into effect will indirectly lead to VPN bans? It will also move the Overton Window to where a ban is the next s

The headline suggests that Utah is moving in the direction of banning VPNs, and is closer than other states. I don't see anything misleading about that, especially when you see the enforcement piece would fundamentally gut VPNs if impl

If you actually want to look at this seriously, check out things like gun control, VA's redistricting, etc.

Sure, but that doesn't work if you're in the scenario we are talking about - red person in a rural part of a blue state. They will still have restricted income.

These are aspirational laws. They pass them to try to force innovative enforcement measures. Same thing with NJ and smart guns, NYC and 3D printing, TX abortion meds, etc.

You seem to forget that those states tend to have rural (red) populations that get affected by the laws the larger population in the cities pass at the state level.

I'd be more concerned about the second part dealing with blocking. You'd have to undermine the tech to implement it.

I don't think so. How do you think they can implement your third quote with substantially undermining VPNs? Do you know of other states closer to banning them, either directly or indirectly?

It's official: Utah is the U.S. state closest to banning VPNs

I'm honestly tired of all this age verification stuff. It's on parents to monitor their kids, if needed, beyond the existing checks. We need to get out of thr mindset of total control. Even highly regulated stuff like alcohol sale

Installation is probably relatively cheaper there due to volume too. In areas where it is less common, there is less competition and fewer options for competent installers.

I feel like this is less about employment and more a factor of money and engagement. You need some amount of money for good health insurance, healthier foods, lower stress, etc. You need engagement, but that could be found in volunteering a

Same sort of thing - how would you expect to find subgroups by assigning the aggregate to individuals. It would be bad design. It's like they're surprised that they used a good design.

Are there any renewable energy companies manufacturing in the US? Seems like all are downstream of that, just providing installation and management. Actual energy security should include some meaningful domestic production.

They should automate the fines by requiring the cars to send the video for processing through an enforcement program. Self-driving, self-ticketing. Maybe that would help force manufacturers to improve quality and not hide as much.
