I have a feeling this is part of it, especially when you consider how many services let you use any of many available AI providers.

I'm surprised they don't just do that, and maybe even to go a little further, disallow renewals so you can phase people out and reclaim domains you can sell.

I wonder if anyone will ever have the guts to enter the gaming console market using open source as a base. Linux support for GPUs has never been better than what it is today. I've spent the last 4 or 5 years gaming exclusively on Linux

I would not be surprised if heavy load from one of their competitors being down would bring down whoever is "next" on the list.

Maybe people switched when Claude went down, giving more load than usual to the others? Or maybe just really bad timing from some of those providers to update?

They're more common among relatives than total strangers. About a year or so ago I saw on Nextdoor a neighbor posted about that some girl who always walked home from school whom he waves to when he sees her. One day she was walking slo

Here in Florida there's no just letting my 4 year old wander to a nearby lake, it might be the last time I ever see her. There's an assumption that alligators are in every lake, and next to my house I have two lakes visible the mo

"Stop all loops you're running" would be one hell of a 0-day for Opus to pull off, but hey, it did crack me up thinking about it.

At that point, Google and Apple should be legally barred from fully banning you if it impedes you identifying yourself unless your account is hacked.

I had a friend build an eBay app so you could scan things while at Walmart to see if you found cheaper products, but that's as far as he was able to get with his app, he couldn't do any pricing comparison against Amazon etc becaus

What's funny is I had just told Claude to kill whatever coding loop it had running. Then got a 529 immediately.

The problem is Amazon, Ebay etc don't want this at all, they wont give you access to their data if you try to do anything meaningful with it for yourself as a end-user because they dont want you finding something cheaper somewhere else

Had to vouch for your comment, for some reason it was not visible. > Geometry is derived from OpenStreetMap (ODbL) and USGS 3DEP (public domain). This is probably how I would have tackled this, saves on time, especially if Fable just wri

They could basically re-form Firefox as a non-profit where they provide funding, but control the non-profit org enough to sway it from wasting funds, not to mention Mozilla's war chest is insane, its no wonder they have bought up some

Not sure why, but my ads used to be insanely spot on, now they're meh. My wife will get ads on Instagram targeting me though. One day I looked at some retro console, she texted me asking if I was looking at a console, she got like 8 ad

If they had some sort of tier that was like $5 to $10 and the main thing it had on it was their custom model for research, no other model, I might re-subscribe, but they were definitely burning way too much compute trying to give it away in

That's such a weird take away, you're comparing Mozilla which has a diverse set of employees, versus an organization whose sole purpose is to hire high quality technical writers, which is already pretty niche.
