Labels are how brains work, but they carry the inherent danger of eventually leading to lazy thinking. Usage must periodically be checked. I don't see how this is exactly enshittification from the original definition of the word.

Disallowing copying and sharing of art is a recent development in human history, not the norm. The normal distribution of music and stories was for others to repeat them, and only recently have we decided it's illegal. I understand tha

The theory doesn't make sense. If the only traffic is from Google itself, the content maker would have to think to themselves "I have some spare time, I think I'll make some content for Google to consume". What?

TL;DR to save you time: 1. GenAI companies are making a loss in order to gain adoption and later lock-in 2. ??? 3. They're going to cash-in soon and start milking you now that business critical systems rely on GenAI The "???"

Either is acceptable: https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/em-dash-en-dash-how-... Also, a comma is a pause — and what a wonderful thing — whilst an emdash is a tangent.

I remember when the "AI feeding AI" issue was raised some time ago, we were told that OpenAI and co were "doing something about it. I've heard nothing since then though. What was/is being done about it?

Emdash separates, hyphen concatonates, endash is the one that seems superfluous. Emdash is actually what people mean a lot of the time when they use parenthesis.

I too realised that the films just aren't very good on re-watching them as an adult. The new films are not good in a different way though. There was never even an attempt at a cohesive story, let alone a single vision for the sequels.

It isn't, at least for me. I choose between GUI and terminal apps based on which one is easies. Sometimes the "easy" option really isn't easy at all.

In troubleshooting, "It's always DNS" has become "If it's not DNS, it's IPv6". I don't even try to fix it. If I disable IPv6 and everything starts working, I move on.

That really isn't his gripe. In fact near the end he describes would have been a good direction for starting fresh. His pain is that it's been 17 years and some basic core functionality is either still broken or entirely missing.
