Sorry, just copy pasted the headline they gave me at the time. One interesting thing I noticed about the big boy locomotive is that the whistle is much lower pitched and more pleasant sounding than typical operating locomotives today

My favorite knot for a drawstring is a sliding type knot. Can't remember the name but it's like a prusik or hitch knot. It stays tight, but you can easily slide it to tighten or loosen it, and you don't need to ever re-tie it

I have a hard time imagining how spx stock will drop to a reasonable price. You have to be a true believer at its current valuation, so who is going to sell? Maybe if enough insiders or stock options start selling it will drop.

They depict how Microsoft bought double fine at the end of the psychonauts 2 documentary. If you watch the documentary it's hard not to think it may not have been a genius financial decision.

If you weren't for the Patriot act you were pro terrorist. If you suggested that the terrorists might be motivated by us involvement in the middle east rather than pure evil then you were probably also evil. Mob mentality has been arou

To paraphrase a description of inform 7 I once heard in a podcast - Inform 7 awkwardly pretends to be regular English, similar to how text adventures awkwardly pretend that the player has meaningful freedom to act in the game.

I don't know if that's completely true. Google, Apple, Amazon, Nvidia etc are somewhat expensive, but not ridiculously so based on earnings and growth. Tesla, spacex and openai are in a different universe, though I honestly can&#x

Self help books definitely have a bad reputation, often with good reason - lots of cliches, preachy, etc. My favorite advice (and central message I think) from "how to win friends" is to really have the other person's interes

Many people here are talking about how more powerful people are also corrupt and are getting away with it. All corruption is bad. This soldier put the life of everyone on the mission in danger by doing this.
