I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Chrome showcased multiple innovations in browser technology. Things like a single process per tab, a much tighter security model, and proof that javascript implementations could be much faster.

If a manager does not trust his/her employee to deliver on a feature by a given deadline (even if that is 8am tomorrow morning) then he/she is to blame. The request to the programmer should not even make it to them if you don't believe that

I wouldn't design an interview just for a specific programming language. If they can prove to me that they understand OOP and functional programming concepts up to my standards, then they should be able to write useful code given a week or

I'm not sure I buy this argument. You had to look up guides for how to set up something you are using because you find it valuable. How is this any different from any other tool you've found valuable and set up? I'm sure that too seemed arc

Recently I interviewed roughly twenty candidates for a software development position. There were a handful of recurring things the candidates did that bothered me. If given a programming problem, don't stand/sit quietly while you work out t

Actually yes. Our internal postgres database is hosted on it. It's rather nice. We use it for the zfs solaris stuff.

I'd say if the dupe hasn't been submitted in a long while then it should be accepted. A link should be added to the story pointing to the old discussion thread for that link. This way if the community finds an old topic/link interesting aga

I've nearly completely switched to Piracetam from Caffeine when I need to focus. It helps with short term memory, alertness, and motivation in my experience. It's cheap as dirt when you buy it in bulk too. http://www.google.com/search?q=pi
