I know the make of TV I'm not buying when I buy my new TV at the start of next year. TVs are becoming a cancer of the electronics market. You can't find a decent normal TV anywhere just "smart" TVs where "smart"

That sounds like a nightmare, and I'm glad I've never had to deal with something like that. Benefits of not being a professional developer.

I like fossil. Much prefer it to git. No idea what stacked PRs are but it's compatible with git and way simpler in my opinion. Plus comes with some nice extras like tickets, wiki, UI.

I don't see JavaScript as the webbrowsers assembly, and whilst it can be, don't agree that the web browser is the new operating system. These are the two predicates used to justify the author's argument to use typescript. I d

My initial reaction was: Why?! But fair play, I find it hard enough to program on a keyboard.

I would like to move to a better backend and front end. Local first would be good over a database server. I've been looking at flutter and sqlite but I've little experience here and am unsure about a multi user context. Access whi

I'm not sure what this is, but having been forced to learn VBA related to Access databases, I've been looking for a similarly integrated solution that's a little more robust. I have yet to find one.

Not in my experience, though likely it depends on what you're running in the browser. My experience with web apps designed only against chrome are they perform worse in Firefox (Gmail, etc). This is not a Firefox issue though.

I often remove the vowels, so I'd have probably gone with 'pdSn' as the shorthand for it.

Say I have no idea how to complete day 12 of AoC. Racked my brains, done some searching, researched as best I can, can't find anything that makes sense. I'm stuck. By your logic I would gain absolutely nothing, learn nothing, but

I think this is where your analogy falls apart. Sometimes being shown the answer to a problem is just what you need to move forward, especially if you are inexperienced. Shown the answer with an explanation as to how you get to it is better

I don't see much to disgree with in what you're saying. Were clearly talking about different things. What happens when you dig in and exhaust all your best efforts and still don't find a solution? Are you a lost cause because

Agree to disagree. Don't see any difference with finding the answers on SO, or in textbooks, and having an AI provide the same. And at the start, novice body builders will of course watch other body builders to learn how it's done

That all well and good until you hit a brick wall you cannot pass. At this point a helping hand and/or the answer is the only way forward or to learn.

Depends if you're really stuck on a problem. I'd rather learn by getting a look at how it's done, even if the code is incorrect, than be completely suck with no idea why or what to do.

Prior to my knowledge of Firefox profiles and multiaccount containers, I used tiny core to isolate my banking, shopping, general browsing, etc; from both each other and my base OS, in virtualbox. I preferred it to other small distros like s

This is why I like a self built PC over laptops. Now I'm sure there's still some way to spot on me via a PC with no built in camera or microphone but I bet it's more difficult. I do have a laptop and it have a physical cover

I'd be more worried about how you're going to pay for it than anything else. If the revenue is not from ads how are you funding it? Especially if it becomes a hit. I think you'll have a hard time convincing most users to pay

This looks amazing. I couldn't see it but is there a setup to integrate with sqlite? I'm new to flutter development and am considering a completely offline app. I think sqlite could offer data persistence and state management in o
