I'm curious about where you interviewed, and how big the companies were. I've never had that experience with startups in Boston (only big companies out near Rt. 128). Engineers are in high demand here, so most "interviews&quo

And then there's poor, neglected Boston. No media coverage about being the next SV. No Silicon derived nicknames (instead there's Rt. 128, Kendall Square, and Fort Point). Sometimes, thanks to the lack of media coverage, Boston&#x

There are two reasons for that: 1. Georgia Tech is just off the list. I saw another version of this list with the ivy league schools removed and it was there. 2. Many engineers that come out of Georgia Tech stay in the south, making less mo

I know you're probably joking, but you're wrong about that. The Mayor's office of New Urban Mechanics (the most startup-like government office I've ever talked to), under the previous mayor, developed an app called Citiz

That would be a shame. I've had a series of VAIOs since the late 90s, and aside from the S series in the mid-2000s they've been stellar Linux machines. The VAIO Pro I replaces my Z with in November is a fantastic machine and prett

If nobody bothers to challenge or set boundaries with cretins like this, how will the situation ever change? I don't think this is a situation where you'd have to fear for your safety for showing a little bit of a spine. It's

My 2013 VAIO Pro 13" works astonishingly well with Debian. I don't think I've ever had a laptop work so well right out of the box with Linux. The PCIe SSD it comes with is much faster than past SSDs I've had, too. Note:
