Having flagged hundreds of such answers before SE suppressed LLM moderation, I can vouch that they stick out like a sore thumb: - they're all written in the same style ("It looks like you're trying to do convert a string to a

I agree that `run()` is more readable than an IIFE if you remove all context and history from the analysis. But the IIFE is a well-known idiom to JavaScript programmers, so readers will not have to pay a cognitive "what is `run()` do?&

I'm not sure if this comment is a joke or not, but please don't do this. Stack Overflow is trying to curate a resource of high-quality questions and answers. The rule is that content is created by humans, generally subject matter

Good point about strict mode. However, I've collected a few gotchas[1] that I don't think strict mode helps with (as seems to be the case with languages that offer strict mode, it's not enough). If you're curious and hav

Small nitpick: if !encountered[elements[v]] == true { is a double negative and hard to understand. I'd write it as if !encountered[elements[v]] { or if you must use the bare bool, if encountered[elements[v]] ==

The point is, if a developer is resorting to another language just to write a 20 line script with a data structure, a loop and control flow, that's a failure of the shell. I don't want to have to use anything other than PS to scri

Case sensitivity isn't a major deal, but it's another example of the designers trying too hard to be clever and "user friendly". A good scripting language should try to reduce friction relative to other programming langu

The author has a few good points. I want to love PS as well, but in practice it has too many gotchas and pitfalls that seem to pop up every time I write a script more than a few lines. Sure, all languages have these, but the ones in PS feel

Their code uses Date.now() but wouldn't it be better to use the high-resolution timestamp[1] passed as the parameter to the requestAnimationFrame callback[2]? [1]: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web&

PKD was largely a product of his time in terms of gender roles, but his short story "The Impossible Planet" may be a counterexample.

Looks fantastic! I can't read the post, but I think you can simplify the 10 print Python code to while True: print(choice("\\/"), end="") (the `format` call doesn't seem needed and `choice` works on
