That's not an answer, that's an argument. Occam's Razor isn't like the second law of thermodynamics. It's a heuristic.

I think we spend a lot more time now, on average, struggling through higher levels of Maslow's hierarchy. I think this will accelerate: much of the struggles of my children will be primarily about self-actualization and finding meaning

In general as people get older they become able to see things that are getting worse, since they have a wider frame of reference, and have a hard time seeing things that are getting better, because they imagine the past was better than it w

Other people pointed out they appreciated this prose. It’s easy to forget what exactly people are asking for when they talk about regulating the training of machine learning models.

These are just opinions, there is no reason to imagine the phenomenology of qualia is so tightly coupled with creative work and/or making good conjectures. There is a lot of smoke…

Huge market for snake oil here. There is no way that such tools will ever win, given the requirements the art remain viewable to human perception, so even if you made something that worked (which this sounds like it doesn’t) from first prin

The US maintaining its lead is a national security issue. Larry Summers is now on the board of OpenAI. The copyright holders are not going to win, or they are, the training will continue anyway, but the technology will be (for now) kept in

Sure, I’m just saying I’d have expected more artists to say “I know this will harm me financially but as an artist it is the most transcendent kind of success I could have imagined.” Eg Grimes sees it this way, anyone else? It’s very surpri

If I had a style of coding (whatever that means) and it got embedded into the models in a way that would cause it to echo for eternity long past my death, and was recognized as mine, I would consider it a successful work of art.

See it’s weird since I would consider this a form of immortalization. Some artists are seeing this way, but very few. It seems crazy to me more artists aren’t being amazed that their entire style is now “canon”

Ultimately cryptography, up to and including the use of decentralized ledgers, will help mitigate some of this, by carving out ground facts that can be mutually agreed upon without risk of AI interference. The people who hate AI the most of

D1 looks like it could replace R2. Most of the tricky business in p2pcf is dealing with all the ICE details - porting the persistence from R2 to D1 might not be too bad.

Author here. KV did not provide the consistency guarantees needed for this to work. If you were signaling across two edge nodes, you didn't see candidates until the data was replicated, which took a long time. R2 doesn't have this
