That Brian guy in particular is a total cunt. Holy crap. Willful ignorance of specific issues being raised combined with smug superiority. I find people on IRC to be a lot more pleasant. I am never mailing a mailing list.

Pardo's book is ballin'. Walk Forward Analysis is the key to a successful trading strategy. There isn't really any math in it. I haven't really had much use for math in algo trading so far. I get ideas from looking at

What is the difference between the situations? All I remember of HipChat's change was the same thing: conversations would only be logged moving forward after a particular date (rather than a switch being flipped).

You've seen better performance on ext4 than XFS? The opposite has been my experience (mainly on 1tb data across 100 million rows, 20,000 queries/sec). btrfs + compression was 5x faster than XFS, but btrfs has nasty kernel deadlo

What exactly is this script training? I don't understand what the input and output arrays are supposed to represent. It looks almost like an XOR search but the last output target isn't correct for that.

It's also pretty miserable even if you make decent money (mid-100s). Thankfully, I am headed for greener pastures in less than a week. Goodbye to the most dysfunctional and disgusting city I've ever lived in. Amazing place to g

Old-ass versions of Clang would build Ruby and PostgreSQL (client) binaries which would segfault upon execution. Try grabbing the latest XCode/command line tools package and you should be fine. I've been running Ruby 1.9.3 with Clang for
