Sendgrid + their whitelabel stuff (SPF/DKIM) = better than 99% delivery for over 100k emails/day. SG is probably the most pleasant email-related experience I've ever had.

It's not going away, it's just evolving (albeit in a less than stellar direction). An enterprising individual will be prepared to take advantage of the forthcoming restrictions and profit from them.

This, and the fact that the truth can not be libelous. As long as you're not misrepresenting a claim, you're fine.

$100 is pretty low end for a GPU. MD5 is many times faster than SHA256, too.

Did you receive that email after registering? The controller action processing your request would have access to the POSTed plaintext password and could pass it right into the email template before it's sent (or queued to be sent). This d

I've seen this layout on a few sites linked from HN lately, and it only loads about 50% of the time. The other 50% I just get a blank page. Awful.

Wow, they even copied a lot of the CSS ids/class names. > 37signals is a bit hypocritical There's a difference between leveraging the lessons learned/data gathered from a particular design and copying the design itself nearly verbatim.

Reddit is a top 200 site. They do over two billion pageviews/month. A lot of their pages are loading 1,000+ nested replies. They use Postgres as their primary datastore. Scaling is a solved problem until you're huge if you're not doing s

Hasn't it already been established multiple times that Githire is garbage? You even have to link your Github account to it to opt out. What a joke.

Yup, though I'd probably pass those in using a POST request. A 5,000,000 character long log entry sticks out a bit, and most people aren't logging POST params by default.

I'm still looking for the BSD version of Linode. Instant, automatic provisioning and pro-rated billing. Every BSD VPS provider I've tried so far has been lacking in interface, auto-provisioning, or have shady cancellation terms.
