For me LA was spread across several courses (I was at Michigan in engineering too), and I never got enough internalization of when it was useful from these, sadly. It definitely seemed more useful that a lot of the higher level maths, like

Yep, I saw that section. To my interpretation, these average percents are so much smaller than the variation seen, that it's basically /not/ addressing the outlier variations. Perhaps plots would be better/less alarming

It seems noteworthy, but not commented that I can see (in the article), that the different samples of "Boba Guys Black Tea Pearls" have 20x variation in measured amount. So what's up with that? (I have uninformed ideas...)

I think the most interesting bit from the Visa podcast was that in the past 5(ish?) years, their revenue has massively increased... From a "things are nice the way they've always been", this felt like a indication that change

I saw this a couple years ago. It was great looking then. I finally got around to trying to model some "real" considerations today, and it's just an awesome experience to use/explore so far. Congrats on the success, and

Lightweight software that does one thing well always makes for a great casual conversation topic here. You learn how widespread knowledge of it it is or isn't. And, often adjacent tools that might be of interest are mentioned. Admitted

Curious: do you also do script-writing in other languages? And just pull out perl for a subset of problems? Or are most things at the "bigger than a script" level for you? I'm not here to judge. I still prefer to write my pyt

That's one sentence; it's a good sentence, but it's not a lot. Nothing about running it. And I already noted (in a very offhand way): > the About section/link being there... it's offscreen by the start of the REA

I could see this being a super-short-term thing, because we've lately been having dry windy weather (bay area), aka Red Flag warnings. But sadly sounds like it's longer-term.
