FWIW I found the report's summary (a few days ago when this was also discussed) essential for clarifying for me what the linked "article" was talking about regarding "anode overhang" and "edge alignment".

I think your comment and claims would be much better if you at least gave some example spitball numbers.

Kayak.com does it... it's very much a UX choice of whether to show combinations of flights at a given "level" (economy/main/1st class) or instead dedicate the space to showing the prices at all levels, and only show

Oh yeah, definitely. Great for my own "throwaway" or rushed projects that I want to revisit, too :D

This issue with READMEs in particular has driven me nuts for the decade I've been doing ROS related robotics stuff. So many repos where the only surface clue (i.e. before diving into the code) of what it does is your interpretation of

What I think of as the classic teardown style by iFixit is not a service manual, e.g.: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Microsoft+Surface+Pro+2+Tear...

Something called Nexstar, which owns a subset of ABC whatevers was maybe first? I stopped trying to understand it after a while; notably, the yahoo article which (I skimmed/searched before I came to HN) doesn't mention this I gues

Thanks for the numbers! I had no idea taxes were such a large fraction elsewhere. Good to know/consider. I'm most familiar with California. (and actually can't give a % that is taxes offhand) After the first year of having PV

Curious where you are roughly located; Does that 80% include the distribution of the electricity? Should I interpret the 20-25% returns as being, your annual savings on the utility bill are 20-25% of the cost of your PV install?

I wonder what the relative fraction of those doing software development that also have to touch hardware is.

I'm not a font person, but the font on the article site makes the zeros look like lower case o; feels like a decision trolling those with a peeve about fonts where 0O look the same. (this was particularly noticeable in the comments wh

Thanks for the clarification. Wild to me I didn't know this external lock button was a thing (my car's 16 years old... but I drive a rental a couple times/year...).

I'm probably completely missing the (presumably relatively common) scenarios you have in mind where stolen cars are used for violent crimes. (I'm assuming reckless joyriding isn't what you're referring to as "violen

To offer an anecdote: I've been used to doing `:e!` with vim. I recently finally had a reason to move to nvim... and it's been auto-updating my buffers when I do stuff in `aider`. Very much a, "oh, ok that's nice!"

I also am a fan, and find it much easier to successfully suggest byobu to others with its simple "F-key to action" mapping of common actions. I work with a bunch of non-developers, so the lower barrier to use is important :)

Especially with academic papers where publish dates are often not easy to find in a super-quick skim. (there's a copyright 2007 at the bottom of the linked page, which isn't explicitly "published in 2007" in my mind)
