These stories of "another merchant using Coinbase/Bitpay/etc." don't do anything to stimulate intellectual curiosity. Flagged.

While some of these things may be less admirable than others (especially to my more science-oriented side), I find it helpful to read the ideas first, process them, then determine if the person's credentials and experience are relevant

You don't peer with residential ISPs, because they aren't backbone ISPs. Residential ISPs need to buy transit from Level 3. If anything, Verizon should be L3s customer, and L3 giving them SFP is doing Verizon a favor.

The solution to this is really simple. Photography is never illegal. It literally infuriates me every time I enter the midtown tunnel in NYC to see the "PHOTOGRAPHY PROHIBITED" signs at the entrance[0]. No, it fucking isn't.

There is some arbitrary length limit on root passwords that isn't disclosed anywhere (or reported if you exceed it.) I had to truncate my password several times to get it to actually work.

And let's hope the review process is very tight about this. If I deny you some permission, you shouldn't be able to pester me every time I run the app to turn it back on. Some apps ( cough Facebook cough ) are already REALLY bad

Almost certainly the triforce stuff, as even Nintendo realized how ridiculous it was, and nerfed it in the HD remake. See http://www.zeldadungeon.net/2013/08/the-wind-waker-hd-trifor... .

Good riddance. Let's go even further and have them ban consumable IAPs. There's almost no legitimate use case for them other than creating pretend currencies that make people hit the skinner box lever harder and spend more money.

Get in the cab, shut the door, tell them you're going to BK or Queens. Problem solved. If you act like a rube, you're gonna get hustled. I'd rather have that (and be able to call the city government and potentially have the p

Here's hoping the "common protocol" they mentioned in the keynote is Z-Wave (strongly suggested base on Tim's use of the word "scenes" and the vendor list they put up) and not some Apple proprietary garbage. I&

Yeah, NPAPI was too open for them to keep permitting the use of. Better to move everything to in-browser DRM (they almost gleefully recommend EME for video) and everything else to NaCl which only works in Chrome. sigh

A service emailing me anything I did not explicitly ask it to is sending me spam - unsolicited commercial email - by your own definition. Just because you find the spam useful doesn't mean it isn't spam.
