Many years ago I looked after a Novell cluster of three hosts with a rather expensive FC connected array. So what - that's pretty normal? It was the early noughties and a TB was expensive. I wrote a spreadsheet with inputs from the N

"I also feel like calling the LLMs "Robots" is needlessly confusing. "AI" or "Agent" would have been more fitting." They are just computer programs. Why on earth is IT so bereft of creativity that it

110V is regularly used via transformers, generally for safety - 110V doesn't kick you as much as 240V. Perhaps I didn't emphasise that 110V is not grid delivered here. I have a 110V transformer and a 110V rated SDS hammer drill.

Its a meme and not "truth". "Everyone" knows that our plugs have three large prongs and if you step on one then it will hurt. However, incidents of actual treading are very rare. Our plugs do have a shape that means th

In the UK we use both 240V and 110V (nominal). Our supply is at 240V. Our appliances are pretty safe out of the box - several standards. We also utilise 110V devices but that requires a step down transformer. I have one. My big hammer d

Have you actually ever stepped on one? If you have, then why was it unplugged? A plug should be plugged in (in which case it is safe) or it is superfluous. I've managed to struggle through to the age of 54 without treading on one of ou

System Rescue used to be Gentoo based and then switched to Arch. You can install both Arch and Gentoo with SR and obviously you can install Arch with a Gentoo install CD and vice versa. SR also has some rather handy SAM database editing fa

The article is written by a co-founder of github and not Linus Torvalds. git is just a tool to do stuff. It's name (chosen by that Finnish bloke) is remarkably apt - its for gits! It's not Mecurial, nor github, nor is it anything
