Looking at this case and the recent case against SpaceX (which is required to only hire US permanent residents and citizens) for not hiring asylees, makes me think DOJ which has the bandwidth to only work on few very important cases isn

Is Chrome being run so bad that we need even more committees, councils and bureaucrats to implement every single feature ? Microsoft is already using the Chromium and changing the default search engine to Bing and shipping it as Edge. What

I believe most people use AI to help them quickly figure out how to use a library or an API without having to read all their (often out dated) documentation instead of helping them solve some mathematical challenge

I have carefully picked the people I follow on Twitter (mostly scientists and CS people) so the feed is ok but every time I try to use it for recent news/events, it's so full of spam it's unusable. I like the community notes

The "computer use" demos are interesting. It's a problem we used to work on and perhaps many other people have always wanted to accomplish since 10 years ago. So it's yet to be seen how well it works outside a demo. What

IMO Apple and Google app store are the same thing. It'd be ridiculous if Epic sued Pepsi and Coca Cola for something about their Soda and the same court ruled against Pepsi but for Coca Cola.

I don't believe in nationalizing anything and there just needs to be competition. Even if we do want to nationalize anything for security reasons, defense contractors should be at the top on the list but they have already bought the US

No, Epic vs Apple and Epic vs Google ruling shows how inconsistent the ruling are on such a common sense situation. So I don't want Google to be broken up and lose business only for MS, Apple, Amazon and Facebook to gobble up its busin

What an incompetent government where the goal is to pad some DoJ lawyer's resume instead of benefiting consumers or the economy

I'm trying to parse this proposed law. What does a "full shutdown" mean in the context of an LLM? Stopping the servers from serving requests? It sounds silly idk.

These analyses don't make any sense. The people born in China right now are much more influenced by a combination of contemporary Western and Chinese media/tech than anything having to do with ancient Chinese dynasties. Same is tr

I agree that the top row on a macbook keyboard shouldn't be replaced because some of the keys are essential there. I'm imagining a touch screen right next to the trackpad that displays the short cuts to common functions of the cur

I haven't had a Mac with touch bar but I can see the point of the idea: You have a keyboard and mouse as inputs to a Mac. why not a mini touch screen as well? but instead of rendering the app content there you render the controls. this

I'm with you that AI is overhyped but your suggested feature is "per app volume mixers" like in Windows? What's the use case on a mobile phone to warrant the extra complexity?

The feature is great. It's not new idea. We were thinking of something like this 10 years ago on Android phones but the compute and battery life wasn't and still isn't there. So I will use it if it's executed right. Howe
