If I squint, Redux is like a controller. Handles requests and response. It calls the DB, gets a response, updates state, then a view (React component) renders it.

They might; I suggested we give everything a two, because that’s what the point value was most of the time. I added some thing along the lines of “it will take the time it will take regardless of whatever point value we assign to it.“

I resonate with several points. I worked at a place for tickets could have a value of : 1,2,3,5 Most of the time it was a 2, with the occasional 1,3. It’s as if some devs enjoyed the time wasted on the banter if we had a fat one or a skinn

This article said nothing about zoning. People can live alone, affordably, with a higher supply of housing, not just for rent and purchase, but we’ve gotta build much more than single family zoning.

Remote work is great for: - People who want more quality time with family - Environment. Less pollution. - Businesses who can save money by not needing an office. If “the economy” doesn’t like it, it needs to adapt. The economy should supp

Is there consensus that continental drift has been constant? What if it was much faster at the beginning and has slowed with time? In that case it would be hard to know its location 2 million years ago.

This never occurred to me but it makes sense. I’m in my late 30s. Not too far from being older than many tech CEOs and I have seen plenty of BS I could call out. I have a family, mortgage, and am not “wowed” by some slick CEO.

The brilliance is that framework doesn’t have to ship anything, unless customers pay a deposit, which would validate the demand. I don’t see how they could lose here.

I wonder how often they have to replace those low priced chrome books, however. Maybe there is a good value proposition in buying a well powered machine that can be updated by an IT department in an age where laptops are never upgradable.

My WFH setup is an adjustable standing desk with ergonomically positioned monitor and keyboard. I don’t spend 2 hours in traffic. I exercise every morning. I can put my feet in the grass whenever I need a break. Remote work is awesome!!!

I read stories about Amazon trashing unused or return devices. What if they are promising to recycle them but really just want to know which electronics are being turned in as obsolete? It’s probably more about data on consumers.

I don’t think anyone has to use coffee script. Our company has a large code base. Tests run in about 15 minutes in CI.

If a company needs to operate M-F, they could also split their workers into two groups: 1. Monday off, 2. Friday off. And those groups can switch every month or quarter.
