It's not just their size, but wouldn't all arrays need know the address of their first element too? For example, consider a simple char buffer: char buf[512]; where we want to read x number of bytes from a file descriptor

Is there anything about the Boeing 707 structurally that makes it possible to do a barrel roll that would not be possible in later generation jets, such as the 757, 767, 777 and 787?

Virgin Media is the only UK-based ISP that uses cable (DOCSIS). All others use VDSL2 where available, ADSL2 or just plain old ADSL (g.DMT) if you're sufficiently rural. The trouble is that Virgin Media have much cut out for them if the

Wait wait wait.. what!? How can it be illegal to say "I don't like paying your tax rate, so I'm leaving your country and move to another country with lower tax rates. Here is my citizenship."

I must be admit I've never got past the start screen with the floating circles of genres: '80s', 'Indie', 'Rap', etc. I had no idea these led to human curated playlists.

That's if it works at all! I've found that pdf.js fails to print entirely when the document is sufficiently large. For example, when printing a scanned white paper from 20+ years ago.

It still pains me that OSX ships with the firewall disabled by default. I don't think its reasonable to presume that every OSX device will be on a private network behind a NAT, and that everyone else will know to turn their firewall on

This is clever, and very sneaky! Let's say I downloaded every public key from GitHub to ~/.ssh. Would this identify me as everyone on GitHub, or just the owner of the first public key to match? Furthermore, I wonder how Go channel

I don't use Chrome either. I like Firefox - even if it is less secure (in principle) than Chrome (no process separation between domains or sandboxing of plugins). The reason Native Client exists extends well beyond Adobe Flash Player.

Since an optimizing compiler is free to go to town on functions such as string comparison, are these functions typically written in assembler per-architecture? I.e. one for x86 and x86-64, another for MIPS, RISC, etc?
