Being responsible for killing many kids over a long period of time is near the top of my list of despicable. If it's not near the top of yours then I agree we don't have any basis for a discussion. Edit: Obama isn't the only

Aren't the Trump haters also projecting? And the Obama lovers as well. Obama is a smooth talker versus the crude talk of Trump. Obama's actions were dispicable. It remains to be seen if Trump's can reach that level.

I've dabbled a bit with permaculture while reading a quite a bit about it. They talk about combining plants into a "botantical guild" such that pests are deterred or controlled in a way that yields are maintained. I've n

I went to a Carlin show once. He was witty. But overall the impression he left was that of a vulgar bitter man.

Sure. But my point really was that use of profanity in most endeavors is a sign of failure.

I like how comedian Jerry Seinfeld put it: "If you have to use profanity in a joke then you failed to nail it." Applies to other things as well. It may be a (crude) indication of honesty, but it is a clear indication of failure.

Thai immigration appears to be inconsistent about the requirement to complete this part of the form. Some offices say it is optional. Some offices don't ask you to fill it out at all. As far as I know they aren't asking tourists t

Just last month I commented here [1] how strange it is to see America slowly but steadily moving in the same direction as the military dictatorship that I live under. And here is yet another move in that direction, because here in Thailand

Seems strange to say the public healthcare is bad because of the existence of private healthcare. It's bad due to the fundamentals. Things like: - it is "free" so it is grossly oversubscribed (basic market forces at work)

Was wondering when someone would say this. It always boggles my mind reading the discussions about "insurance". It's what Americans have become used to calling insurance even though much of it isn't insurance at all.
