Neat use of an SMS anonymous relay, very cool! Ditto on Twilio, we use it at GroupFlier.com and love it, definitely an enabling platform.

Interesting metrics on the growth and engagement rate. FWIW, I am seeing similar metrics at my group texting site (groupflier.com), a 15% engagement rate and linear group growth. I wonder if that is the natural growth rate of closed groups?

Amen on that! Tarsnap is a key tool in my stack and I feel like I pay 1/10 of what it is worth relative to the other tools.

I picked * as it is a primary key on a regular cellphone keypad. I might add the option for the user to customize the command prompt. Thanks for the feedback.

Ah, I think I know what is going on. Did you send a welcome message to the group from your cell phone? If you didn't then your group is staged and not yet created. I need to check for numbers in the staged groups as well. Thanks for the fee

Thanks! We are looking at ways to use your address book to make group creation easier. Our upcoming iphone app will allow you to do that but we would also like to enable it from the web as well.

I love Redis and the new features rock! I use Postgres and Redis in tandem and it is a great combo. Postgres for all the stuff SQL databases are good at and Redis for all the stuff they are not.

I wish it was mobile optimized web site but all the good stuff, camera control, address book, motion sensors etc. is not exposed to web apps and won't be any time soon. You will be writing an objective-c app for iphone, and java apps for an

RoR for dynamic HTML apps used to be the coolest thing but now the really new/cool stuff is written as a JSON server talking to AJAX and mobile clients. In this world node.js, clojure and erlang (maybe) are cooler than RoR.

The old saying "hungry dog hunts best" sums it up as was already pointed out in another comment. The hungrier I get the sharper my focus becomes, whether it is writing code or hunting, it works!

I would like to see the stats from Linode et al. on deployments. My sense is that Ubuntu is growing faster than the other distros.

Thanks we will add that. In answer to your questions. No we don't re-sell or do anything with the email addresses. As a group member you can see a list of the other members and remove yourself from the group.
