Only 1-5% of founder's shares are contributed. 95% or more retained. It's insurance; not a plan B.

Great point. We think founders/builders make the best investors. They can sniff out failure. Selection is done through peer ranking by the applicants themselves. Top make it in.

Accreditation is easily achieved just by having raised money for your company. A founder who owns 20% and raised at a $5M cap/valuation meets the $1M asset threshold.
