Macos sonoma and ios 17 i think include something like this. It’s pretty basic but I assume it will evolve over time. Look for “inline predictive text” on the new oses of apple.

Only reason I’ve noticed is cause my phone doesn’t last throughout the day as it used to do a week ago, and my usage according to “screen time” is “down 14% since last week”. But of course this isn’t anecdotal evidence at best.

Do you by any chance live in a place with really high temperatures the past week? London UK for example has been over 30 degrees and both my macbook and iphone batteries last significantly less.

Also https://yggdrasil-network.github.io — but tbf both the linux distro, as well as the overlay network are niches. Pretty sure there are much more well known projects with the same name.

Been running k3s for personal projects etc for some time now on a cluster of raspberry pies. Why pies? Were cheap at the time and wanted to play with arm. I don’t think I would suggest them right now. Nucs will be much better value for mone

It’s not as clear cut as this. Raid6 on how many disks? raid6/zraid2 with 6 disks total might be fine, but 20 disks is not. One of the more common scenarios with consumer grade hardware is a degraded array getting completely lost while

I can’t be sure what the parent commenter’s question was, but for me the weird part was the “and start making money”. Is there common knowledge or sentiment that if only you could get your hands on a console or pc, you can then “start makin

This seems to be a custom pcb replacing the internals of the google mini with an esp32 plus stuff that offloads stt and tts to another device. Looks amazing.

I do take screenshots pretty often (multiple times a day) and have a screenshot folder going back to very early 2000s. I now and then will look for stuff there and bump into weird things. (Was looking for suprnova screenshots the other days

Really not sure why this needs a phone number. Not much of an explanation why either. I assume for social stuff, but gating the whole app like this will deter some people from trying it out. Sounds like a fun app though.

I think the point is that a paid api is a replacement for the ad based monetisation model. So if the user is paying for using the api, they no longer should be seeing ads.

Doesn’t seem apollo is for sale right now, and it looks like the price would have been closer to 10m if the recent rants from the dev are any indication. Would have been a good price if it was cross platform.
