Yeah it seems like it. Chrome and a lot of other apps show an insane amount of these popups on IOS14 to either actually check your clipboard or just to toggle "paste" buttons.

I think you are right. You can still have one off sessions but maybe depends on the privacy settings of the server.

I've really come to love ultrawides with a nice tile window manager (currently amethyst on MacOS). Reduces the need to either have my head tilted towards one of the screens, or move between them. I've also got an ipad with sidecar

They use firebase for push notifications. GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) has been moved to firebase, and it can now also do Apple notifications I think so it makes sense to just stick to one.
