By definition contracts are legally-enforceable , hence they are typically upheld by judges.

I second what illuminate said. Plenty of society's systems hide info for potentially nefarious reasons, so that you have little choice but to draw your own conclusions. Just follow the money.

I checked in Go (golang). Verbatim, it's false. But if I save at least one side of the equality to a variable, or cast at least one side to a float, it's true.

> Are there any stats on how often they find for the corporation vs the consumer? The corporations choose the arbitration firms. The arbitration firms should know full well who's feeding them. So stats aren't really necessary. > ...

The judge will throw out the class action when shown that the plaintiff agreed to arbitration only. Hence lawyers won't start the class action to begin with.

Well, they count my inactive accounts as active daily accounts. They'll be at 2 bn soon I'd say, when they append "*2" to the formula.

It's often "how can we serve our users without getting sued?" A user can sue because they find the colors on your site depressing.

Automattic.com (runs WordPress) has this wording in their Terms of Use. The put those terms under a Creative Commons license so that anyone can copy it and re-purpose it for their own needs.

And you can be sued by a nut on day one, for any reason. I've read that if an LLC has only one member, judges are free to ignore the "limited liability" part. It might be necessary to incorporate.

OK, thanks, I'm starting to understand. Good explanation. I quit being lazy and searched around too, to see that it's possible.

> So index into your actual table, and check to see what's stored there But that check isn't a constant time lookup. The lookup time can vary. (Analogously, a lookup in a phone book can vary in time; we can't necessarily go to the exact

Maybe because of this fact (according to Wikipedia)?: "The more elements that are added to the set, the larger the probability of false positives."

Again just curious, but I'd still like to know how. Someone there asks the mod how it could be O(1), the mod replies it's a "hash table lookup". But Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_O_notation suggests that such lookup is no

It's the opposite. Obama, the chief enforcer of laws in our country, said "Our law is by definition a codification of morality." Lying is legal when society deems the lies to be acceptable or not wrong enough. Tax evasion, however, is consi

Even lying to raise social status and get ahead is better than cheating on your taxes, according to the law.

Better analogy: You ask about the deposit not reflected and they say "Sorry, you didn't choose the account option to prevent the money from vanishing. It was noted in the fine print; didn't you read it?" Then you get a new bank.

People who own their homes don't have mortgages. They pay their property taxes on their own initiative, the same as the honest people paying their use taxes. You've stated your opinion about morality all right. You think it's okay to be a s

You're rationalizing. It's tax evasion, a crime, regardless of ignorance. Many states have a simple online form for it. That it's voluntary doesn't make a difference; paying property taxes is also voluntary for people who own their homes. T

waterlesscloud is correct. It's a crime (tax evasion) for you to not pay your state's use taxes. Much more serious than lying to an employer; at least that's legal.

I abandoned Google fonts because of the annoying latency / flash on refresh. The Adobe fonts are smooth on my dev machine. That might be worth the difference under the hood.

The Gen Ys that didn't overshare will make it up the ladder. The highest ones and those seeking office will pay to have their online records expunged, hoping they can avoid blackmail. The oversharers will be ruthlessly exploited.

Good points. I already have three methods. This would be one more, in the extremely unlikely event that all the others fail. A fourth backup would be overkill if it wasn't free.

It's a little hard for me to feel sympathetic with the need to conceal problems with products, trash the environment, lobby the gov't to be allowed to trash the environment or whatever, set up shell companies for nefarious reasons, etc. Yet
