Something similar happened with Sonic Mania and SEGA [0], hiring some people involved in various fan versions and ROM hacks. It worked out well. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Mania#Development

You know the problem with those principles? They are not a methodology. Most of the problem described in the article -and everywhere- is precisely that "the theory is good but everybody is doing it wrong". But that doesn't

Yes, I did not mean my comment as anything more than "it is a tool; sometimes it's a good tool; learn to use it". Or as saying that while "maximize white space" is not a good advice, saying one should completely ign

I think, as others have already mentioned, it's not all one way or the other. Different situations require different approaches. In general, being aware and correctly using negative/white space is a good thing. The problem is that

In my similar amount of experience... I have seen an approach similar to this maybe twice. Sad, yeah. I have used it, though, when I had to hire. And it went fairly well. I don't have any hiring responsibilities now so I haven't

Here's an idea for how to actually do a technical test (if you do want to do one). 1. You bring the candidate in to your office. You have their future desk already available with computer and development environment already functional.

I've always thought the "HTML in JS" was in fact a strawman argument set up to deviate the attention from the fact that it is indeed a different syntax for function calls (and class instantiation). And it is actually that the

It's not really well explained in the article, but the argument against Symbols is that you (client code) have to store them somewhere for reuse in different calls. That is that, you could do... useState("someID") ..

Yes, and to some extent it is addressed in the link too (though not really well explained). Symbols do not clash, but they need to be managed/stored by client code. i.e. you need to keep the original Symbol to use it in different calls
