I don't agree. Most of the bullies I dealt with growing up were privileged shits who had never had anyone cut them down a notch.

You say that, but it was way more stressful pre agile with the fixed date, fuck around for a few months planning, then dev, run out of time then death march to finish, etc. A lot of young guys like that D-Day style work, then goof off for a

Looks really cool though did not see what the SDK is or languages it requires? I've built game tables before with flat panel TVs and web tech, but have wanted to integrate miniatures, position, etc into the apps.

Yes, granted it was over 20 years ago, but I came from a pretty broke household in the United States, and I went to a cheap state school instead of a nicer university or private school because I couldn’t imagine borrowing for school. The fo

It's actually really cool. I will say that "spreadsheets" remain a bandaid over dysfunctional UIs, processes, etc and engineering spends a lot of time enabling these bandaids vs someone just saying "I need to see number

Cool but now companies POs will be like "you must add the Excel export for all the user data!" and when asked why, will basically be "so I can do this roundabout query of data for some number in a spreadsheet using AI (inste

My kids went to a free charter school, with similar setup and care from parents. The outcomes were notable and it wasn't really about privilege imho. (Though some activist type folks I know who count "parents who care" as a

My point would be that engineering manager, etc are the ones who vett folks to be talked to. I'm pretty sure every job I've gotten in 25 years was initiated by engineering lead or manager.

You might be misunderstanding what I mean by "prepare". I mean companies that expect you to have crammed algorithms/leet code/CS new grad before their interviews. Then if you don't, they treat you like you are a h

I refuse on principle any interviews that expect you to study or "prepare" for an interview. I'm sure I've missed out on some money, but they've also missed out on a pretty good engineer and teammate :-)

It honestly wouldn't bee too bad on macOS if they kept this mostly to the window chrome, or things that really need to float. But adding this to all the toolbar buttons, in Safari and Finder looks just like some 3rd party theme hack,

I don't disagree with the idea that people can be a little kooky about FP, but the idea that webapps are perfectly fine without modern front end approaches is a bit exaggerated. Managing UI state is much easier in the client - sure, i
