Nokia Maps is _amazing_ and has been since the Symbian days, even more so by the fact that you can download maps beforehand (whole countries) and use them offline. Utterly unparalleled might be a bit harsh.

C# is definitely more portable than Java when it comes to games nowadays. You can target all the (big) mobile platforms (WP, iOS, Android) as well as the usual Windows/Mac/Linux. It's also used for Xbox Live Indie and Playstation Mobile gam

Not only on iOS. The "App Store" model as it is implemented today on most platforms is bloated and corrupted, it's just a mess. It _could_ be a tad better on Android since Google allows 3rd party app stores (could open up for specialization
