Dynamic dispatch is where you call a method on a Box<dyn T> type, where T is a trait. Cfr: https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.8.0/book/trait-objects.html This in contrast to generics which is static.

Yeah and I was trying to implement their workaround for missing dynamic dispatch in a generic-heavy multithreaded async (tokio, hyper) context.., Cfr: https://github.com/plabayo/tower-async/pull/12 So far did

Amen to that. Love it sooo much. Looking forward to the day I can use that for associated types. If I can get that for my birthday in May, it would be magical.

Congratulations to all involved. Huge milestone! That said, I’ve been using it seriously on nightly for a while already… and must say its ergonomics are off putting. For example I maintain https://github.com/plabayo/tow

While on the surface it might look like htmx, it really is quiet different. Htmx is all about embracing hypermedia and its only goal is to enhance the shameful shortcomings of html. See also the hypermedia.systems book. E-html seems to be m

> Why use hreflang? I’m not a web dev so I might be missing something obvious… but… Why the obsession with binding languages to a url (resource)? There’s an accept-language http header that will respect the user’s languages in desired or

Tbh if there was an app that would allow me to move between spaces on all my monitors at once, instead of each monitor to be done one by one, then that would be sufficient for my needs.

The new approach in mind is how many of us who learned basics of programming as kids have done it, or learned anything at all. Makes sense to me. Learning immediately about for loops, functions, variables, parameters, and any other concept

Depends. If the check is only about superficial stuff like User Agent etc then that is easy. But they can fingerprint on all layers (tls, http, web api, js engine). To fake that all requires a lot of effort. Not all can be changed with an e

I agree. Maybe it is fascinating because it has zero bullshit, skips no details and brings us back to our human nature? A state where most of humanity were in, very different from the current life. Spiritual home?

Call me sceptical, but I don’t buy it. What makes you certain that’s the (one) future… Also programming is a super broad field, and more then a field is almost more like a medium then a field. I honestly don’t know if we’ll still program by

No. It’s just another alternative. I’m not a web developer in my day job. So I’m not aware of all options out there. Render does look awesome. More mature and all. It’s not as easy as shuttle though. - shuttle comes with a cli that allows y

I use shuttle to deploy some side Rust projects for my web facing parts. I love it. They are also planning to allow you to host it yourself via a docker setup, in your basement or cloud. For now I’m just doing it via their service and gladl

In Belgium house dr visit costs me 4 euros as a medium class income… even less to free if I’m poor… The other money is automatically covered by the required insurance which costs not that much either.

Agreed. Very much ego issues on both sides indeed. Next to that I feel some people love any negativity about Rust to make them feel better. Just like there are fans on the other end of the spectrum. Yet to me this just seems to be a typical

I find it equally refreshing to sometimes not use vscode and use instead helix (similar to vim). Or for projects that I’m not often contributing to, even just the IDE of gitlab/github directly.

Is there somewhere docs to show you how to run this on your local machine and can you make it port it a script between languages? Gpt4 can do that pretty well but its context is too small for advanced purposes.

Makes me glad I live in a country where pay raise to match inflation (at a minimum) each year is mandatory by law. Allows us to ask for actual pay raises on top of that.
