fwiw, i know the topic of the thread has deviated, but i share the frustration about reading PDFs on my device. In my case, it's an accessibility issue - I can't see well, so zooming with reflow would make my life materially bette

Most neural networks these days aren't recursive however. GPT-3 and friends certainly isn't, unless you count the inference loop as recursion, which is bounded both by vocabulary size and maximum token length (hardcoded for now).

When I hear “signature file” I think of a list of signatures of known viruses and malware. These types of signature files aren’t meant to guard against exploits, SSH brute forcing, etc, even if the router applies them to inbound traffic in

if it doesn’t meet your needs, then don’t buy the device. You use “customers” as if this were trying to be a full product. This is a weekend hack. Of course there’s going to be low-hanging fruit that could be optimized away. Stop shitting o

That’s an attack on the router itself, not the network traffic it carries. Signature files are only useful to scan network traffic.

Some workloads on M1 absolutely smash other ARM processors in part because of M1's special-purpose hardware. In particular, the undocumented AMX chip is really nice for distance matrix calculations, vector search, embeddings, etc. Non-

Coding is a lot more modal than document composition, so I think the paradigm fits better. Sometimes you're in "understanding the codebase and tracing execution paths through tons of libraries you don't know" mode, somet

Check out Möbius Sync, which I've been using. It's reliable for the most part, using geofencing to try to remain on in the background.

I could see the idea of building a quiz or something with CSS and named anchors (links within the document). No JavaScript, everything all on one .html, and it would work on elinks! But yeah, that’s certainly a bit of a novelty.

You’re right, JavaScript wouldn’t be necessary for my website. I agree that getting rid of it would increase accessibility. Would love to be able for my site to be usable in elinks… My post above was concerned most of all with privacy, and

Facebook knows the nine billion most common human names. On my Mac, sha256() takes 288ns, so running nine billion of them to find the collision would take about 43 CPU-minutes.

Honestly I'm not sure. If the judge rules that Google is a co-employer, then it could be much harder for them to do that. I think that's why the ruling is so important.
