Housing prices and the cost of any good school beyond a select few good public ones pretty much brings the lifestyle down to the same level. My friends with kids and solid incomes live comfortably but not extravagantly considering one lay-o

Sure but do people want to actually want to live in those places? My wife and I both live in SF and we were able to buy a house which would be impossible now, but I don’t think we’ve ever cleared more then 250K max combined in actual salary

If only it had stopped at fizzbuzz as a quick check for whether you can meet the lowest bar for coding I think it would still have some merit but it just seems to have gotten out of hand to the point that ability to get a job now is complet

It seems more akin to working at a game company where the companies take advantage of the fact that so many people want to work in the game industry they can keep salaries relatively low.

Can we ever manipulate things directly at the atomic scale to direct the creation of artifacts? That would seem ultimately where everything would converge to technologywise in terms of resource use and recycling of resources. I don’t think

I doubt you have to be a full on developer. Probably along the lines of a QA tester. Some overlap for sure with developers but a different skillset mostly. I think it would be interesting to work as one for a while just to see how the sausa

If you’re not published on Apple’s App Store then you can’t reach a huge segment of the market that would like to use your product. I don’t think Apple, Google, etc. , should be the gatekeepers between a developer and their customers.
