I've read this and similar posts on this study a dozen times in the last few weeks. I think the data is poorly interpreted and what you're really seeing is that shorter pull requests elicit better feedback (in this case "more

I found your issue about this: https://github.com/justwatchcom/gopass/issues/462 It sounds serious, for sure, and this software deals with sensitive data, so that is important to keep in mind (though, it vers

I've had zero issues and found the team to be very responsive on Github. I worked with the team to help spec. out the XKCD password generating feature and it was done literally a week later. I've become a bit of an evangelist for

Without making any judgement on whether it is a useful transactional "currency," I hear this sort of thing a lot, but I don't understand it. Surely either BTC is a good transaction mechanism or it isn't and the rampant i

No one said it has to raise revenue. This whole process could be revenue neutral. Give direct cash injections to the bottom 20% to offset the cost. This is about incentives, not revenue.

How do people do things like this? They manage to achieve pretty sophisticated modifications to compiled games without access to the source code. Is it really just disassembly and careful low-level work?

These seems likely to me too, but until someone demonstrates it, I'm less certain. GANs are notoriously unstable and it is still quite hard to produce useful models with them.

This is a strong testament to the value of the research. The researchers may have saved this guy's brain, if not his life.

Preservation and reduction of bit rot is a great reason to open source Flash or ensure there is always a definitive version available, even if all the browsers should ban it because it is a messy, unperformant security liability.

This is a really short-sighted perspective. Letting Flash die would be a serious contributor to bit rot. Archival of all the historical content created in Flash is a respectable goal even if we should _never use Flash again for anything new

I read the article and he doesn't really answer why this is beneficial. If you have an arbiter of truth, isn't it just a really inefficient database?

How could rolling dice be "more random" by any meaningful definition of randomness than random.org? Rolling dice is a pretty trivial physics problem with really hard to observe parameters... parameters that the machine reduces the

Instead of transmitting obviously fake data, record the genuine data of other users (randomly and anonymously, of course) and retransmit it. It poisons the association while being much more difficult to fuzz out.
