It's a fundamentally important problem to solve. If to get rid of my old and no longer wanted public activity record I have to sit for hours upon hours manually deleting stuff, I'm going to be much more judicious in how I post in

I don't mind too much if some link from a decade ago is no longer findable by someone I posted it to. That's what email is for. Activity records on a shared platform should be batch purgeable.

How about a way to delete past activity? The fact that there's no option for "delete all my old posts, comments, likes, and photos" is infuriating. I don't need a record of my inane crap from high school on the same plat

Sadly, that whole genus contains neurotoxins. I'm not sure the medical evidence is in on pawpaw's, but soursop is responsible for high rates of atypical Parkinson's in areas where it's a staple.

Missing data hinders generalizability and long term stability of ML techniques even internal to an organization. This is just one symptom of the fact that the "data generating mechanism" changes constantly, in both obvious and sub

It can be done at a reasonable pace. If you try to distance throw large amounts of wet, heavy snow, you're going to have a bad time. If you make good use of appropriate shovels, minimize wasted effort, and take your time, it's rea

So what kind of generative stuff does it "learn" from really really sparse data, or from random noise? Trained generative models can produce some crazy things, I wonder if something similar could work here. Recursive geometric pat

This even goes for high school counselors. I grew up in a suburban family with all of that knowledge of the system. My wife went to a similar high school, but is a first generation college student. She found out that she was supposed to tak

Yes, we mandate a percentage of corn based ethanol in our gasoline, and the crop insurance system is set up for monoculture. We also don't make any attempt to price in the externalities of resource intensive industrial agriculture.

oh_sigh is correct, humans are a dead end host for lyme. It's primarily maintained in a mouse reservoir - the larval and nymph ticks feed on infected mice, and then the nymph and adult ticks can expose humans and deer. Deer are not rea

Not everywhere. Much of the Midwest used to have a fire ecology, leading to prairie and Oak Savannah. Now forests of non-fire-resistant trees crop up on any bit of unused and unmaintained land.
