That's nice... Might as well let private companies operate land cruises the way they do in other countries, and to own and operate their own rolling stock in cooperation with the host railroads. NOrtheast Corridor, and some of the west

>Why not make freight fast, too? Physics. Running a freight train at 150 mph requires serious engineering to make sure it can go around the curves well, and wear and tear is immense.

The route is seriously dumb -- goes straight to Milwaukee and then south, versus going directly through Madison. Badger bus already does MSN-MKE cheaply and quickly, and there's almost no chance that this routing could ever be time-ef

I got in with my hotel key card when I was staying for a week or two. There's an argument about limiting the number of people who visit in order to preserve the natural environment, and residents who pay for it should have first priori

There's a market failure here: everyone now applies to 15-20 elite colleges, at an application cost of perhaps 1500$. Kids have no idea where they'll get in, and colleges have no idea who will attend. Limiting applications to 8 o

NYC has taxed the wealthy very aggressively to pay for cultural entertainment (to keep the wealthy) and social services that help reelect the politicians who set up this system. Clearly there will be changes coming.

Someone needs to invent the elevator combine -- existing combines are super efficient. Not sure how you harvest wheat in a vertical frame efficiently though. Maybe the frame rotates and you guillotine it all off?
