You would be selective. For OS services you should be able to rely on them... You also don't want to deal with all of them. For this you could otherwise just use journalctl. You also have OOM issues, and this has its own facility.

Good point; it is not that systemd (or restarts) hides it, but it is monitoring and log analysis that is lacking.

I think they rather received a phonecall/pager on the weekend than having it restart. ;-) This is actually part of the self-healing aspect. One way to see if a service restarts is using the following command: sudo systemctl show [s

And that is my point. While I use Matrix, it is confusing by itself as you need the client, which was hosted as riot.im, now element, etc. For a newcomer this page is just as confusing whle it could be a great entry as it being so lightweig

I would hope the audience targeted is admins/deployers instead of developers, as you would like to drive adoption.

I might have missed something, but the page is very simplistic and assumes you know what Matrix is and how to use this; a lot of time is spent on the installation through different means, but none how to use the server itself, either by use

does vyatta/vyos store the configuration in a single file or easy to back up config? I do not remember anymore how this was done, but I believe that is the appeal what 'nix' was mentioned.

... have to say that the offering is confusing; it is a subscription or a rolling release. Wondering how much can be automated of the installation/state; would it be possible to use version control? If not, I can see the appeal to sugg

I was wondering if this was Vyatta... it seems it is the community continuation after Broccade ceased development. Used to run this over a decade ago on a 'router' (ThinkCentre Tiny), but eventually went to a Fedora installation a

I am very positive about that. Thr name change didn't do much. They are still colloquially known as Facebook. And meta also this bad vibe because of the failed metaverse. It is smart they choose IG to use for this. It has a different u

It is social media. The information is in the open already. If you are concerned, don't post on a public site. The concerns were about them seeing your messages. Well, they can scrape or use RSS anyway to get your info. Threads isn

UBI images are to host applications. Do you need screen, udhcpd to do so? Nope, but you get httpd, etc. It is just a choice they made to make it easy to host your application in a RHEL container on top of OpenShift running on RHEL (fully su

Instagram is a more oriented community. I do not care about Facebook, but on IG I have a lot of likewise minded people. Making this into a more sprawling community platform makes sense.

They are images tailored towards runtime use. They do not come with server components. For example, you can't get/download udhcpd in a UBI image.
