I always expected that black was the easiest color, since you just add enough pigment to wipe out any colors from other materials. Are they implying that that brown color is the natural look of the materials they used, so the simplest to en

A quiet PC is one reason I've always removed the GPU cards from used ones I've gotten. The crappy little fans on GPUs that constantly whir up and down drives me nuts.

When I wake up from good rest it's like I've been somewhere else for years. I use that time to stay off the Internet and look at things fresh. That would explain plenty of coming up with novel solutions to things, without any solv

I've never needed credit but chose to get credit cards to establish a credit history for the future, and use their cash back programs. I get 3-5% back on all my purchases, so they've paid well over the years, and I have a good cre

Presumably it makes people fearful to post things that differ from the norm, which is what I'm assuming parent means by brainrot (wrongthink).

I grew up when we owned game systems and the games, and they couldn't phone home to see if I still had permission to play. I was recently considering installing Steam but this kind of thing gave me pause. I couldn't invest any mon

If browsers came with ad blocking that's enabled, it would just make those lists less effective since advertisers would have a serious incentive to work around them. I'd rather ad blocking only be used by people who care enough to

Understandable as GNU was founded on software freedom. I guess one could argue that the Rust rewrite is to establish some kind of higher standard for correctness.

Yes, perfectly good code can have bugs. This is ridiculous thinking to scrap a codebase because it's not bug-free, to replace it with one riddled with differences in behavior that break everything that uses it.

Pedantic and relevant. If they lost the voice samples, they wouldn't have it for training new models. If they were copied, then they have lost nothing in terms of training.

The wires count is suspect. USB 1.0-2.0 only use two wires for data (the other two are ground and power). USB 3.0 uses 4 for data (plus extra shield, 2 for USB 2.0 and 2 for power). I don't know well enough the others.

I try to do the first version in a minimal way to just try the concept. If it works it will be useful and justify an improved version, and will be a good test ground for elements that will go into the improved version.
