Working in scala and enjoying it a lot ! You have a library for every thing and syntax express functional code elegantly. The mix of object and functional programming make all seems a little bit confusing. A problem haskell doesn't hav

Support for game on linux is improving, but there is still few people playing on linux. Sales on linux are so sparse, I wonder if porting games on this plaform is profitable.

I still believe that programmers are closer to the autist personae type than the average. Doesn't mean that being a real autist mean you are a good programmer.

Really interesting. I already began to inline code with a comment for each block. Didn't knew John Carmack agree with me.

I wonder why they chosed to support rust, ruby and scala. Shouldn't they support c an c++ over rust ?Shouldn't they support c#, coffeescript and go before scala or ruby ? All the latter programming languager are more mature, more

I tryied chrome on Ubuntu. It is so slow it is almost unusable, so I switched to firefox (that I feel less user friendly). That may be the reason why it is preinstalled on linux distos.

I don't understand why you are downvoted because this is a great question, and true that the top most students do not go there, they prefer engineering schools (but there is good students there). disclosure, I am a 42 school student in

It is a rewrite of gnu coreutils because cureutils sucks. It is a good reason ! I guess it doesn't intend to be a 1:1 rewrite of coreutils then ? The public available function to users will be rewrote.

Is there a real need for this project ? I mean, this project has been used for a long time, could it really be better ? Do you intend to replace GNU coreutils ? Not to be mean, just a genuine question (and yes I read the Why section of the

I really tried vim for months. I found it uselessly verbose while sublime has straightforward key shortcut that help a lot. How could you be more efficient using vim ? That's something I don't understand. I always suspect vim and

That's the reason why I consider sublime text to be superior to atom. I heard some people complain about few bugs, ie sublime not working on some linux distribution. Nothing happened to me. And sublime is FAST.

Isn't it pretty much the same thing as dart. Except dart also manage the backend and is already used and mature ?

It doesn't. C++ is too complex. Rust interoperate with c only.

If syntax is still verbose (it's ok for me) at least it is clear. There is no ambiguity unlike c++.

There is much more weird stuff in c++ than in any other language. Especially rust. Add to that that you also have to deal with the Makefile/Cmake garbage. Another solved by rust (rust is shipped with cargo which release you of the make
