That analogy doesn't really work - if they came to your site from a particular search term it would seem likely the content is already there. Even if people are reaching a site based on a mismatched keyword, I wouldn't have thought many peo

Yeah, I think it's phrased that way as it's questions someone supposedly should be able to get right at GCSE level (age 16 end of high school exams) or something. 20/20 here (native speaker though).

I used to use that for all my development too and thought it was great at the time. I even wrestled with it's crazy syntax highlighter to get ActionScript colour coding working. The lack of Unicode support became a bit of a problem for me t

I'm not sure I see the distinction, especially with smart objects and vectors in Photoshop these days.

Probably because there is no reason for it to exist if you can use Photoshop... I'm surprised there are that many posts about FW actually, I don't know anyone who uses it and I tend not to install it even.

I don't see any cheating either, it's probably just called that because it's uncannily good as long as you don't use short words.

I think you're more likely to lose people immediately with that hurdle - I certainly wouldn't install Silverlight just to view a video to see if I was interested in a service, but if the video made the service look interesting enough I mig

No kidding with your first point, I still can't get over this thing I saw back in October: Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon has said the government is prepared to go "quite a long way" with civil liberties to "stop terrorists killing people".

My thoughts exactly, I was also involved in Flash experiments from the days of Flash 4 even, when it was horrendous to "code" in. I can't help but find it slightly irritating when people remake these in Javascript these days to have praise

Office already had a pretty poor interface, so maybe it's more to do with that? I was pretty disappointed they didn't try anything different, but I guess the aim of that was to attract people who actually like Office in the first place.

There's also FDT, an Eclipse plugin that makes Flex Builder look like a joke in terms of how it deals with Actionscript code. I don't know what it does with MXML though, and haven't tried the debugger in it either (I don't have the so calle

True, I wouldn't class anything Autechre has done as noise-y, other than maybe Gantz Graf. Snares also isn't at all that noisy other than that album he did with Speedranch. I love the Autechre myspace page, despite how it looks, I'd say it'

Agreed, MTASC has been a huge time saver for me over the last few years, I can't recommend it enough for AS2 development. Another free AS IDE: http://www.flashdevelop.org I've not used it a great deal (I use FDT with Eclipse), but I thoug

Javascript was the language I learnt with more or less. I think it's quite a good choice, but it is very easy to write "bad" Javascript, especially when it comes things like eval(). It seemed wonderful when I first discovered it, but not un
