I'd be happy if he just does science on the system. Maybe he can figure out a way to zeno the system into being classical to prove a speedup.

"I hope Martinis considers NV (nitrogen vacancy) centers in synthetic diamond as quantum computing elements." He's built his career around superconducting circuits. Switching to optics would put him outside his area of expert

To me this is very exciting. Anything that makes real-time control feasible in my mind is a very useful tool.

It's rude to call someone "an autistic." They are people with autism.

No no no. You can't use superposition to communicate data. Look, if your idea leads to being able to do literally anything faster than light, it's automatically wrong.

It was always a postulate. Now thanks to understanding things like the stochastic master equation better, we understand that wavefunction collapse is a continuous process, and not at all a random one.

It is absolutely a real quantum system. It's an artificial atom. It has basically approximately the same Hamiltonian as a trapped atom but at 6 GHz, and we can control the coupling.

Yeah I dunno what's up with quantum computing. DiVincenzo isn't there any more.

He forgot to mention patents. All the big smartphone companies are in mutually assured destruction with their patent portfolios. If you enter in you have no ammo and will get squashed.

Yeah but additionally people are writing their source code by hand in CPS which is really stupid.

There's quite a large effort in superconducting qubits, superconducting quantum limited amplifiers, at least one company doing rapid single flux quantum circuitry. Superconducting circuits are reasonably popular.

Most folks in the field don't believe it's quantum. Benchmarking is a truly stupid way to test something's quantumness. It's a bit like a company selling fusion reactors who puts their reactor in a car, and then races it

Grrr. Why won't Microsoft open the CLR? It's so fast and has such amazing codegen! I don't want performance to degrade moving from Windows to some platform that requires I run mono!

Ayyo. I work for a quantum information group. Wavefunction collapse is a way of dealing with measurement, or having information spill from a closed system into a system with a huge number of degrees of freedom. If I was able to solve the sc

I think its fun science. I hope we'll get a bunch of coherent qubits one day, but if not, what're ya gonna do.
