I love that! All the more reason why the search should function properly with cookies disabled. Just disable cookies in your browser, load Blippex, and search. I searched for "shakespeare" in Firefox 22 (where I have cookies tur

Doesn't work at all without cookies. Meaning, it doesn't work, and doesn't tell you why. If you're targeting people who are looking for an alternative to the major search engines, there's a better-than-average cha

Wow, you taught me something. I've heard of the "Fourier transform" many times and it never clicked what it was for. Thanks!

I agree with you about the design issue. I've had to create one myself ( http://tenjin.ie ) -- although I think the laws in Ireland are slightly different than elsewhere in the EU. Regardless of the laws, though, when a site

Try disabling cookies. This exactly describes the effect, except that it's not mysterious once you're used to it. If something doesn't work, I open it in Chrome (where I have cookies enabled), and it works. In many cases, I

> I've always thought Facebook was from the devil. But you can't stop using it . Why? I quit Facebook about two years ago, when I stopped liking it. Too many political arguments and misunderstandings. Guess what? Life goes on.

Contrast with Murdoch's blunt use of weasel words: "price-points you don’t like." "does that give you enough comfort?" "we are worried more about the absolute holdback of product elsewhere... than we are about the actual haggle over what th

This is great, especially for an "alpha" (ha ha). My wife will love this for creating transparencies (she does serigraphy).

Along the same lines, Chrome (maybe just webkit generally) does not fire DOMContentLoaded until external script requests have resolved or timed out , even if they are async . Also, I don't understand why people feel so strongly about repo

Notwithstanding the critics, I've read many explanations of Monads, and I found this one helpful, especially coming off of Eric Lippert's: http://stackoverflow.com/a/2704795/4525 I get it now, so thanks!

On the contrary, "corporation" in a hundred years will mean exactly what it means today: "person." Ergo, this is how robots will get around the Turing test.

Besides, it's a false dichotomy. Even rms knows that you can "have kids" without procreating. We have two adopted children — from the same mother — and believe me, you get the full experience. We were also lucky enough to be present for

To those who don't see the point of this, I would place it in the context of a larger move towards code "babel" (for lack of a better term), i.e., a unified interface for common abstractions. Imagine that (as Steve Yegge suggests) the tool
