RIP Zune. It was my favorite music player, especially being able to control it without looking at the controls. Tech industries have developed alternatives, but the intuitive features built into the Zune are something I've yet to see b

I don't have anything to say, technical-wise, but this is absurd and I love it.

I'm just here to say that I enjoyed that intro you gave to the website, and although I hate unitaskers in the kitchen, that intro helped to remind me of the magical wonder of them in the early days of "The Modern Smartphone".

Does this comment mean to say that you can change anything or that you can't ? IIRC there are quite a few things locked down on an iPhone that require you to jailbreak it if you want to customize it, but I haven't been in the i

I suspect naming it after a substance that's poisonous to humans isn't an issue for most average users, and for the users who are even aware what cadmium is, might just improve memory retention when trying to think of the name aga

If you think those are the only points of drama, you may not have seen news about OpenAI from a couple months ago where Sam got ousted from the board, got in bed with Microsoft, then eventually came back to OpenAI, just to name one of the b

Google Wave was the first thing that came to mind for me as well. RIP That being said, this looks like a nice spiritual successor to it!

Okay, this comment was the comment that got me sold on Mullvad. I was looking for a VPN I liked anyway and if you also use your business entity to help drive legislation toward a more privacy focused end, I'm in.

Since I'm not seeing anybody mention it yet but it's one of my favorite ways to find new genres, I'd highly recommend everyone check out everynoise.com because they seem to have scraped Spotify's genres (you'll need

I haven't maintained it like I told myself I would, but regarding an offline repository of useful data, I made a school project a while back that aimed to fill that very niche. It was composed entirely of open source, public domain, an

From my experience, you can just skip it and still play the game. Most of those Google prompts can just be bypassed by hitting the "back" button (on android, at least).

I (perhaps mistakenly?) started with YAPD but then got my friend hooked and he went for SPD. I love how active the SPD dev is, but the mechanics are juuust a tad too different for me to want to learn them all. Both are great games though!

For what it's worth, I'm on the younger side of things and the demo scene is something I still greatly admire. It's an integral part of so many technologies we use today, and although I may not be good enough to participate,

I mostly agree, but I've been blocking ads however ways I can for years now, and I'd say a few minutes of setup has saved me HOURS of dealing with ads at this point. Plus... Building a PiHole was downright fun and easy.

Just speculating here but... More than just _playing_ a game, I could see OpenAI wanting to go after the 3D assets market by letting players generate levels, items, and perhaps even NPCs, simply by describing them. It might be easier to gen
