I used to feel the same. For a long time I got away with using C and python for everything. They paired well and I always came away feeling that my code was expressed elegantly enough for me. C was for stuff that had to be fast, python f

And by the way, that whole "never rewerite software from scratch"... that might be what they teach you in your startup accelerator or your CS classes, but in the real world, hardware changes fast, your clients change fast, and you

Exactly! I laugh at this petition because nobody is maintaining X.org server right now or even wants to touch it. Last major release was iin 2018. It is a nightmarish cludge. Nobody is forcing anyone to upgrade their software but the rest o

I have nvidia and use wayland. It works just fine. I think you are referring to a nested caveat of this which is that the subset of applications still coded soleley against the X protocol will run without gpu acceleration under nvidia and

I just did the math and at 12000 people and 16777216 possibilities, 98.63% chance there's at least 1 match. Not buyin' it!

the MBTI example and use of weighting only makes it more clear that this "case study" is dead from the start, because it shows it takes many questions just to ascertain someone's position on each eigenvector. For example, th

Even distribution is just important for doing it in as few questions as possible. If you want to do it in 8, and cover 16M distinct personalities, you're gonna need them to be very evenly distributed. Check out http://en.wi
