I'm not sure about the mechanics of this, but at a minimum the webserver probably has access to the HTTPS private key for the subdomain, or at least has it in memory, since the request is shown to be running over HTTPS.

Very thorough. Two things I'd like to see are comment score distributions in the 3 months or whatever before and after scores were hidden (the purple histogram), and a heat map of article tone versus comment tone.

It boils down to not having a handle on the general ledger, which if not suicide is at least reckless self-endangerment. But I think it is plausible for someone who is administrativaphobic. But there is a reason this is mistake #1 .
