How is that different from JS, which you say is your favorite? Sure, you can have Typescript, but you can type your Python code as well and use something like mypy. I would understand disliking Python if you said your favorite was something

I think you are describing "how to learn effectively, manage time, and stay motivated [once you've picked a topic]" - which is important and useful, but IMO slightly different from what the OP is describing (and a problem I h

That's an interesting approach, but I feel like you are describing a slightly different problem than the op is talking about, or at least I have. Once I pick something to work on I have no problem staying motivated or sticking with it.

I have exact same problem. But for me it's not just about learning. It extends to other aspects of my life - side projects, health, work, travel, etc. I have huge lists of things I want to do, but no real way to manage them. I'm h

Fair enough, I was referring to "using" Kubernetes as opposed to managing your own infrastructure. I can imagine how running it on self-hosted servers outside of a popular cloud provider can be hard.

I don't understand why people think Kubernetes is "hard" - I find it quite straightforward and the documentation is excellent. I've been running my side projects on a single k8s clusters and rarely have issues. Yes, ther

Yeah, hybrid cloud and multi-cluster is still not a first class citizen. Kubernetes wasn't originally meant for this, and while I think there exist some solutions, they are quite early stage. Of course nothing prevents you to put your

This is very true. I recently ported large portions of Go code to Rust, and while it was somewhat of a steep learning curve and a fight with the compiler, in the end I felt very comfortable that the result is correct, fast, and had good abs

In theory you can, but in practice it would make your code very messy. If your dependency is using runtime A and you are using runtime B - how would they interact? Runtimes like tokio also provide convenience macros for you main mehtod, kin

I haven't used you yet, but IMO this is the way it should be done. Once I get around to cleaning up my current custom k8s pipelines I will give you a spin :)

Wow, I probably have seen 10 of these kind of companies over the past few months. Personally I believe (and hope) the winners in this space are going to be modular open-source companies/products as opposed to the "all-in-one enter

I worked at FAANG as well as several small startups (<100 people). The perhaps biggest downside of working in a big company is politics. You are no longer working to provide value to customers. Instead, you are playing a game of politics

I've tried AdWords for a couple of projects and have had very similar experiences. It has always been a total waste of money for me and I'm having a hard time believing that it's actual people, i.e. potential customers clicki

To be fair, the post does not say that. It says that it's "one of the papers significant to the author" - a subjective ranking.
