It doesn't seem twisted at all to me. These operations are forced to exist in non-safe locations because of prohibition. I think the current laws are just as responsible for these explosions as they are for the hashish you find cut with sho

How about a gradual social revolution? Do you prefer that your social changes occur in short, violent bursts, or would you rather have them spread out over a long period of time?

I was in the market for a new phone recently and was considering the new iPhone. Pieces like this were a big factor in my decision to give my money to Motorola instead (I got a shiny new Ming and absolutely love it).

Karma for introducing me to the term Overton window. And I do agree with you that we should encourage China to continue to liberalize. I just wanted to try to offset what I feel is a somewhat one-sided view of the Chinese situation. I'd als

I can't imagine that it's harder to bribe people in China than in the USA. In fact, I think much, much more bribery per capita happens in China than in the US. The Chinese legal system is very weak.

I feel like, fundamentally, the problem of piracy with digital goods is something like this: I'm a wheat merchant. My store is located 10 minutes outside of town and I give people a fixed amount wheat in exchange for money. But one day ther
